Engineering & Innovation jobs
Engineer what people depend on.
Your work can start with a question on a screen and end with an engine you can see in action. At INNIO, engineering brings together simulation, design, and testing, on one of 25 test benches and with more than 450 people in research and development. Because what we build has to perform when it matters most.

Built on decades. Driven by what’s next.
Decades of experience meet new questions here. Our teams run around 250 projects in parallel, with tools such as EPLAN, Windchill, MATLAB/Simulink, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, GT-Power, and Python. Whatever you develop has to perform in the real world, on the test bench and at the customer site. That keeps the work honest and makes your impact visible.
What you work on
Jenbacher engines range from 250 kW to 10.6 MW and run on fuels from natural gas to renewable gases, some types even on 100% hydrogen powering data centers, grids, and industries. The Waukesha team has been building engines since 1906, from 335 to 5,000 hp, for power generation and gas compression in demanding environments. And the next chapter is already underway: a 3 MW hydrogen demonstration, and data center orders in the books. From Jenbach and Waukesha to Welland, Budapest, Houston, and Frankenthal, our Engineering teams share one goal: changing the world with better energy.
Your career path in Engineering
Your path in engineering is as individual as you are. Grow as a technical expert, or take on a leadership role, and if your goals change, you can switch between the two tracks later on. Many of our engineers start with an internship or our Rotational Engineering Program and work on real projects from day one. Zita, for example, joined through an engineering traineeship after studying mechanical engineering in Munich. Today, she is a Lead Performance Engineer and has led a flagship project: a 1 MW engine that runs on both hydrogen and natural gas.
„After my studies I wanted the mountains, and a team that lets me do the math instead of telling me what the result should be.”
Waukesha, Wisconsin
Engineering for Waukesha engines at our growing U.S. headquarters, where a new production line is on its way.
Student programs
Real engineering projects from day one, in Waukesha, Jenbach, Welland, and more. Work side by side with experts who know these engines inside out.
Graduate programs
Two years, four rotations, one career: the Rotational Engineering Program at our U.S. headquarters in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
